The Parish Council is made up of 10 elected residents who serve a four year term. It is responsible for a number of local services, including: roadside seats, bus shelters, the play equipment on the playing field, the cemetery, the closed church yard, some of the street lights, the Trap & the Pound. In addition, the Parish Council liaises with Central Bedfordshire Council on matters that are their responsibility such as highways & rights of way. Central Bedfordshire Council invites the Parish Council to comment on matters that might affect the lives and well-being of residents, & this includes planning applications.
The Parish Council meet 6 times a year on the last Tuesday of the months of January, March, May, July, September & November. Full details of meetings are in the "meeting dates" page on the left hand menu.
There is always 15 minutes set aside at the beginning of Parish Council meetings for public questions & comments about agenda items, & this is the section of the meeting specifically set aside for the public to participate in. The public are very welcome to stay & observe the remainder of the meeting.
